We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Preston to assist with the appointment of a Glasshouse Technician, on a 1‑month contract, highly likely to be extended at client’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Glasshouse Technician role supporting the delivery and maintenance of plant stock across parks, nature reserves, gardens, and public green spaces. The position involves plant propagation, general horticultural duties, and maintaining high standards of plant care while ensuring full compliance with health and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and propagation of plants using various production techniques.
- Assist with gardening and site maintenance duties including planting, pruning, litter picking, and bin emptying.
- Maintain plant stock, including use of herbicides and insecticides where required.
- Monitor site conditions and report any issues through internal procedures.
- Operate parks vehicles when required.
Qualifications
- Basic education (GCSEs or equivalent).
- Qualification or training in horticulture, gardening, or environmental services (desirable).
- PA1/PA6 certification for pesticide use (desirable).
Essential Requirements
- Experience or interest in horticulture, gardening, or outdoor maintenance work.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Understanding of health and safety practices.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
