We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Painter and Decorator, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.Rate of Pay: £14.17 – £18.09 per hourSummary:We are seeking an experienced and skilled Painter & Decorator to maintain and refurbish empty council properties across the Kettering and Corby areas. This role is essential to preparing temporary accommodation for new occupants, ensuring each property meets high standards of presentation and safety. The successful candidate will carry out internal and external painting and decorating, minor plastering, and surface preparation, working independently and to a professional standard.Responsibilities:
- Carry out painting and decorating work to unoccupied council housing stock as specified.
- Undertake both internal and external decorating to a high professional standard.
- Complete minor plastering, filling, and wallpaper stripping as required.
- Work safely at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or cherry pickers in accordance with safety regulations.
- Identify and appropriately handle potentially harmful substances, including asbestos-containing materials and MDF.
Minimum Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent) in Painting & Decorating.
- Minimum of 24 months proven, hands-on experience in painting, decorating, and related repairs.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Access to own vehicle for commuting.
