We are seeking an experienced and qualified Team Manager to lead a Family Help team, providing management oversight, supervision, and support to Consultant Social Workers, Social Workers, and Outreach Family Support Workers. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality social work practice, improving outcomes for children and young people, and promoting a positive, safe, and effective working environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct line management to Consultant Social Workers, Social Workers, and Outreach Family Support Workers.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-focused social work practice across the team.
- Oversee case management, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
- Provide regular supervision, guidance, and management oversight to staff and supervisors.
- Support Consultant Social Workers in carrying out their supervisory and leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory body.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Essentials
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care or Family Help Services.
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or managing Social Work staff.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practice.
- Experience managing complex cases and providing professional oversight.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing performance, attendance, and staff wellbeing.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
