We are seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to support the day-to-day management of a Children's Social Care team. You will provide leadership, supervision, and oversight to Social Workers and other professionals, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met, safeguarding children and young people, and delivering positive outcomes for families. Working closely with the Team Manager, you will drive high-quality practice, performance, and continuous improvement across the service.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of a team of Social Workers and other professionals.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people while effectively managing risk.
- Ensure statutory duties, legislative requirements, and service standards are met.
- Monitor and support the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service targets.
- Manage the allocation and distribution of caseloads to ensure needs are met appropriately.
Qualifications
- Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory body.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Essentials
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
- Experience of safeguarding children and managing risk within statutory services.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or managing Social Workers and other staff.
- Strong knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, policies, and safeguarding frameworks.
