Lifeline Control Room Operator

Overview

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Merthyr Tydfil to assist with the appointment of a Lifeline Control Room Operator, on a 4.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client\’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Hours and Pay

Hours per week: 18.50

Rate of Pay: £13.26 – £16.84 per hour

Responsibilities

• Staff the Lifeline and Emergency Planning Control Room on a rota basis.
• Receive and action calls via landline, PNC, fax, and other communication networks, ensuring each is dealt with appropriately.
• Provide guidance and reassurance to service users, next of kin, scheme managers, and nominated contacts.
• Monitor and respond to Lifeline, Telecare, and alarm systems.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with Data Protection requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 3 GCSEs (A*E) or equivalent experience.
• Completion of a 10-hour online Welsh Work course.
• Experience using telephone systems and IT systems to engage with customers.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act.
• Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work alone and cover a flexible rota (including nights, weekends, and bank holidays).

Other Requirements

• You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
• You should have right to work in U.K.
• This role requires a Basic DBS.
