We are working with a local authority in Suffolk to assist with the appointment of a Property Manager on a 6-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion. The Property Manager will lead and manage the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Property Department, ensuring effective management, maintenance, development, and compliance of the Service's property portfolio. The post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership for property-related activities, including preventative maintenance programmes, reactive repairs, estates management, budget management, contractor performance, and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service property portfolio across operational and non-operational sites.
- Ensure all buildings, stations, and workplaces remain safe, compliant, operationally effective, and fit for purpose.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement, innovation, and asset optimisation.
- Act as the primary contact for property-related matters involving contractors, corporate property teams, tenants, and external service providers.
- Monitor income generation opportunities and recover costs from tenants and shared occupancy arrangements.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification in Property Management, Estates Management, Building Surveying, Facilities Management, Construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Recognised Management Qualification.

- Extensive knowledge of property and estates management principles.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance, compliance, health and safety, and asset management.
- Significant experience managing property, estates, facilities, or asset management services.
