We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Enfield to assist with the appointment of a Housing Access Assistant on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at the client\’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Role Overview
The Housing Access Assistant will provide frontline support to residents seeking advice, assistance, and access to housing services. The role involves assisting households in housing need, supporting homelessness prevention services, and ensuring residents receive accurate information and timely referrals.
- Act as the first point of contact for customers accessing housing services via phone, online, or in person.
- Support housing officers with administrative duties related to homelessness applications, temporary accommodation, and housing register processes.
- Provide information on housing options, rights, and available services to the public in a clear and sensitive manner.
- Liaise with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., support services, landlords, social care) to support customers\’ housing needs.
- Support the delivery of temporary accommodation placements and coordinate logistics where necessary.
Requirements
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment, preferably in housing, social care, or local government.
- Experience managing sensitive information and working with vulnerable individuals.
- Experience using housing management systems (e.g., Northgate, Jigsaw).
- Experience supporting service users facing homelessness or housing crisis.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Housing, Customer Service, or Business Administration.
