The Coroner Support Officer provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and courtroom support to the HM Coroner, ensuring the efficient delivery of the Coroner's Service. The post holder plays a vital role in coordinating inquests and court proceedings, managing sensitive case information, supporting virtual hearings through Microsoft Teams, facilitating professional witnesses such as doctors and medical consultants, and ensuring that all hearings are accurately recorded and documented.
Responsibilities- Prepare and process case files prior to hearings, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Support the Coroner in managing documentation and evidence presented during hearings.
- Ensure all proceedings are accurately recorded and stored in accordance with procedures.
- Manage incoming correspondence, emails, and telephone calls, prioritising matters appropriately.
- Ensure complaints are managed appropriately and routed in accordance with the Coroner's Charter.
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
- Significant administrative experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Right to work in the U.K.
