We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Flintshire to assist with the appointment of a Revenues Assistant, on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.
Rate of Pay: £13.26 - £17.14 per hour
Summary
The Revenues Assistant will provide administrative and technical support across the Revenues service, including maintaining Revenues applications, processing financial transactions, producing reports and supporting the development and improvement of Revenues systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and technical support across the Revenues service and assist with the maintenance and development of Revenues applications.
- Reference and index incoming documents using the document management system and convert correspondence into electronic records.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with quality control and confidentiality requirements when handling customer information.
- Process Council Tax and Business Rates direct debits, including setting up, amending and cancelling instructions and dealing with unpaid direct debits in accordance with BACS guidance.
- Prepare and verify routine transactional changes to Council Tax and Business Rates liabilities to support timely and accurate billing.
- Monitor and allocate payments to the appropriate accounting year and ensure balances are accurately maintained.
Qualification
- GCSE English/Welsh and Maths at grades A–C or equivalent.
Essentials
- Strong IT literacy and experience working with computerised IT systems.
- Good understanding of Data Protection legislation and experience handling confidential documentation.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of databases and Windows-based software packages.
- Experience working within a busy office environment.
- Experience dealing with routine customer enquiries, including telephone enquiries and signposting customers to appropriate services.
