Position
Waste Data Officer – 1‑month contract with potential extension.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality data management, reporting, and analytical support to Waste Services, ensuring integrity, accuracy and compliance of waste performance data.
- Review, document and improve waste tonnage calculation processes and methodologies.
- Map and analyse waste data flows across multiple operational systems and external waste disposal facilities.
- Support production of recharge information and financial models relating to waste disposal and recycling operations.
- Produce documentation, process maps, guidance notes and SOPs to support consistent data management.
- Prepare statutory waste returns and performance reports, including submissions to Waste Data Flow and other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English.
- Experience analysing and manipulating large datasets using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
- Experience producing accurate reports, forecasts and management information.
- Experience investigating data discrepancies and ensuring data quality.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – Pivot Tables, complex formulas, Power Query, and data validation.
- Understanding of Waste Data Flow reporting and environmental reporting requirements.
Requirements
