We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Southwark Cleaning Operative, on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
The Southwark Cleaning Operative role involves carrying out a wide range of cleaning duties across communal and external areas, maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies, and supporting the council's commitment to high environmental and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Carry out cleaning duties across council estates, highways and communal areas.
- Clean corridors, utility rooms, balconies, entrances, lobbies, refuse stores, lifts, stairwells, landings, store rooms and external areas.
- Sweep, damp mop and wet mop hard floors and walkways.
- Sweep and clean external areas including pavements, pathways, channels and courtyards.
- Scrub internal and external hard surfaces as directed.
- Undertake wall washing and high-level cleaning of walls, fixtures, fittings, and internal windows.
- Ability to undertake cleaning duties across internal and external communal areas.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and Health & Safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.
- Good communication skills.
