We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Redbridge to assist with the appointment of a Housing Caretaker, on a 2‑month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client’s discretion. The Housing Caretaker will work as part of a small team to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming communal areas across the Council's housing stock while ensuring compliance with health, safety, fire safety, and building safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean internal and external communal areas within the Council's housing properties.
  • Carry out sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general cleaning duties.
  • Undertake litter picking and removal of bulk waste from communal areas.
  • Sweep car parks, service roads, and external housing estate areas.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation across all assigned sites.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Caretaking team to deliver an efficient service.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full clean UK Manual driving licence.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices in a cleaning/caretaking environment.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual cleaning duties.
  • Previous experience in caretaking, cleaning, or a similar professional environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Right to work in the U.K.
