Overview
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a CCTV Operations Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client\’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay: £22.20 – £29.49 per hour
Responsibilities
- Operate CCTV equipment and proactively monitor live surveillance to detect and respond to incidents.
- Ensure compliance with the Council\’s CCTV Code of Practice and legal frameworks (GDPR, Human Rights Act 1998, Data Protection Act 2018, Civil Contingencies Act 2004).
- Liaise with police, emergency services, council departments, and external agencies to support coordinated responses.
- Manage evidential material, ensuring accurate recording, secure handling, and continuity of exhibits to standards acceptable in court.
- Log daily events, incidents, and system faults accurately on databases and occurrence logs.
- CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) — Qualified to minimum BTEC Level 2; Current SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence.
- Previous experience working in a Public Space CCTV control room.
- Proven experience liaising with police and partner agencies.
- Skilled in operating CCTV monitoring and recording systems in compliance with SOPs and Codes of Practice.
- Experience using Synectics and Vigilant CCTV systems (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate reports, witness statements, and evidential material.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification: BTEC Level 2 in CCTV Operations (or equivalent) and current SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence.
