We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Caretaker, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
The role is responsible for providing cleaning, maintenance, and caretaking services across council estates to ensure communal areas remain clean, safe, and well maintained. You will work independently or with other caretakers to support residents, respond to issues on estates, and help deliver a high-quality neighbourhood service.
Responsibilities- Carry out cleaning and caretaking duties across communal areas of estates.
- Ensure communal areas, pathways, lawns, and shrub beds are clean and free of litter.
- Remove offensive graffiti and report damage or repairs required.
- Undertake minor repairs within communal areas in line with health and safety guidance.
- Monitor and report incidents such as fire, burglary, flooding, or abandoned vehicles.
- Maintain lighting and report faults in communal areas.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Some experience in cleaning, caretaking, or similar duties.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and report incidents appropriately.
- Good communication skills to interact with residents and colleagues.
- Ability to carry out physical work and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
