We are working closely with a local authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of an Emergency Management Officer, on a 12‑month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client’s discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver work programmes to ensure compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act and other relevant statutory requirements.
  • Lead designated specialist work streams, with responsibilities allocated by the Principal Emergency Management Officer.
  • Organise and participate in emergency exercises to test plans and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide support to the Council’s response to emergencies and incidents during and outside normal office hours.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level standard or able to demonstrate equivalent work‑related attainment.
  • Good understanding of local and regional government structures and systems.
  • Understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act and other relevant statutory legislation.
  • Experience developing plans, policies, procedures, or operational guidance.
