We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromsgrove to appoint a Caretaker on a 3‑month contract, highly likely to be extended. The Caretaker will be responsible for delivering day‑to‑day caretaking services across estates, blocks, and schemes while building positive relationships with residents and the local community. The role involves ensuring communal areas remain clean, safe, secure, and well‑maintained, alongside carrying out health and safety, fire safety, and legionella checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness within communal areas and housing estates.
  • Sweep, clean, and mop communal areas including accessible windows and bin stores.
  • Ensure bins are prepared for collection and communal areas remain tidy.
  • Carry out litter picking, graffiti removal, garden clearances, and bulk waste removal.
  • Undertake minor repairs in communal areas as required.
  • Conduct void property clearance and cleaning works in preparation for new lettings.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Full and current driving licence.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexible, approachable, and comfortable working within a team environment.
  • Keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining clean and safe environments.

Additional Requirements

  • Available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS.

Pay and Hours

  • Rate of pay: £14.13 – £17.91 per hour.
  • Hours per week: 20.
