Overview
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bath and North East Somerset to assist with the appointment of an Admin Assistant, on a 5.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. The Admin Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the Virtual School within Childrens Services, ensuring smooth operation of processes linked to child protection and education. The role involves liaising with schools, social workers, and partner agencies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the effective coordination of Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for the Virtual School by liaising with schools, internal teams, and external partners via phone and email.
- Monitor shared inboxes, ensuring emails are actioned or referred appropriately.
- Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases to ensure accurate and timely information management.
- Input and update records on the Liquidlogic Childrens System (LCS).
- Initiate, track, and distribute Personal Education Plan (PEP) forms to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications / Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential).
- Business administration or related qualification (desirable).
Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role within education, childrens services, or local government (desirable).
- Experience of using databases and information management systems, preferably within a child protection or education context.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information.
- Experience of liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
