The Recycling Delivery Driver is responsible for the logistical delivery and exchange of waste and recycling containers across the County Borough. This role ensures residents and commercial properties have the correct equipment to participate in the Council's sustainable waste management schemes. The post involves significant physical activity, including manual handling of wheeled bins and containers, and preparation and maintenance of stock for reuse or disposal.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to service requests for new or replacement recycling containers, including wheeled bins, recycling boxes, and bags.
  • Transport and deliver containers to various residential and commercial properties throughout the County Borough.
  • Safely load and unload bins and containers from storage areas onto delivery vehicles.
  • Prepare equipment for reuse or redistribution by thoroughly washing and cleaning returned containers.
  • Ensure all manual handling tasks are performed safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a driver with a clean, valid UK driving license.
  • Experience in community engagement or a customer-facing role, with the ability to deal with the public politely and professionally.
  • A basic understanding of sustainable waste management and recycling issues.
  • Right to work in the U.K.
  • Available to work immediately or on short notice.
