Field Sales & Account Management comprises roles focused on building and maintaining relationships with clients, driving sales revenue, and ensuring customer satisfaction. These professionals typically engage in face-to-face interactions with clients, either in the field or through account management activities, to understand their needs and provide solutions.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Account Manager to join our commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a strategically important territory, driving growth across our radiology portfolio while developing long-term partnerships with NHS and private healthcare customers.

This is a highly varied and rewarding position that combines account management, business development, product launches, clinical engagement and strategic territory planning. Success in the role requires a commercially driven individual who can effectively manage multiple priorities, build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to grow Bracco’s presence across diagnostic imaging.

Purpose of the Role

The Account Manager is responsible for achieving sales and profitability objectives across a defined territory through the promotion and development of Bracco’s radiology portfolio. The role has a particular focus on:

  • Growing and protecting Bracco’s CT Injector business.
  • Managing the transition of customers to Bracco’s next-generation injector platform scheduled for launch in 2028.
  • Driving growth of Bracco’s MRI contrast media portfolio, including the successful launch and adoption of Vueway.
  • Expanding the use of Iomeron, particularly Iomeron 400, within CT imaging departments.
  • Supporting growth of associated consumables, service contracts and complementary products.
  • Building strong relationships with clinical, operational, procurement and executive stakeholders across the NHS and private healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Territory & Account Management

  • Deliver or exceed annual sales targets and territory budget objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with radiologists, radiographers, procurement teams, service managers, business managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share, expand product utilisation and secure new business.
  • Effectively manage a large geographical territory while prioritising activities to maximise commercial impact.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and competitor activity.

CT Injector Business

  • Manage and develop Bracco’s installed base of CT injectors.
  • Identify opportunities for new injector placements within target accounts.
  • Develop replacement strategies for ageing injector systems to protect and grow market share.
  • Lead customer transition planning and implementation for the launch of Bracco’s next-generation injector platform in 2028.
  • Work collaboratively with customers throughout equipment evaluation, procurement and implementation processes.

Service Contracts & Consumables

  • Support the retention and growth of service contract revenue across the installed base.
  • Work closely with Bracco’s Service Team to ensure service contracts remain current and renewal opportunities are maximised.
  • Promote the value of preventative maintenance and ongoing technical support.
  • Drive growth of injector consumables and associated products that contribute to recurring revenue generation.

MRI Portfolio

  • Drive growth of Bracco’s MRI contrast media portfolio.
  • Lead the successful launch and market development of Vueway.
  • Develop a deep understanding of MRI clinical pathways, patient populations and imaging applications.
  • Identify opportunities where Bracco products can improve diagnostic confidence, workflow efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Engage confidently with healthcare professionals regarding clinical evidence and product benefits.

CT Contrast Media Portfolio

  • Grow the use of Iomeron across the territory, with particular emphasis on Iomeron 400.
  • Identify and convert opportunities from competitor products.
  • Support customers in evaluating clinical, operational and economic benefits of Bracco’s CT contrast media solutions.
  • Develop account-specific growth plans that increase utilisation and market penetration.

Portfolio Development

  • Promote and identify opportunities across the wider Bracco portfolio, including:
    • Protocol Touch
    • The wider contract portfolio
    • Device consumables and accessories
    • Future product launches and strategic initiatives

Clinical & Educational Support

  • Collaborate closely with Bracco’s Applications Specialists to support customer education, training and implementation programmes.
  • Maintain sufficient technical and clinical knowledge to confidently discuss imaging workflows and device operation.
  • Facilitate educational activities, product evaluations and customer demonstrations where appropriate.
  • Act as a trusted partner to customers by understanding both clinical and operational challenges.

Commercial Operations

  • Maintain accurate, timely and complete records of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts and account plans within the company’s CRM system.
  • Analyse sales data and business performance metrics to identify opportunities and optimise territory performance.
  • Assist with the preparation of quotations, tender submissions and commercial proposals.
  • Participate actively in sales meetings, commercial events, exhibitions and educational programmes.
  • Manage any promotional budget allocated by the Sales & Marketing Manager in accordance with company policy.

Compliance & Quality

  • Report adverse events in accordance with Bracco UK Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Report complaints in accordance with Bracco UK SOPs.
  • Operate at all times in compliance with applicable SOPs, company policies and quality procedures.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the current ABPI Code of Practice and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all mandatory training before undertaking relevant activities.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Company consistent with the level and nature of the role.

Candidate Profile

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets within healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals or diagnostic imaging.
  • Strong account management and business development experience.
  • Experience managing complex NHS sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and convert commercial opportunities.
  • Excellent territory planning and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.

Desirable Experience

  • Clinical background in radiology, ideally as a radiographer.
  • Experience selling into radiology departments.
  • Experience with MRI, CT imaging, contrast media or imaging devices.
  • Experience launching new healthcare products.
  • Understanding of NHS procurement processes, framework agreements and tendering.
  • Experience managing capital equipment sales.

  • Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of published clinical evidence supporting priority Bracco products.
  • Stay informed of developments in diagnostic imaging, radiology practice and NHS healthcare priorities.
  • Successfully complete all required internal training programmes.
  • Successfully achieve the ABPI Medical Representatives Examination qualification within the first two years of employment.
