Brabner Fox is partnering with a wellâestablished and fastâgrowing accountancy practice looking for a tax director to lead their tax team. The successful candidate will provide allâround tax advisory support to senior accountants and partners while managing their own portfolio of clients. This role suits someone with knowledge and experience of all taxes, who is detailâoriented and genuinely interested in building great client relationships and helping clients navigate tax matters. This senior leadership role carries the opportunity to become a shareholder of the wellâlocated, growing firm with a diverse and interesting client base.
Key Responsibilities and Involvements
- Manage the delivery of dayâtoâday personal tax compliance to a portfolio of individuals including highânetâworth clients, business owners and directors
- Provide tax advice for a range of sometimes complex tax queries
- Review selfâassessment tax returns, assisting the tax team members
- Review trust tax returns
- Provide advice to colleagues and clients on a range of tax issues, including capital gains tax, VAT, IHT and corporation tax
- Meet with prospective clients to understand their needs and assess how our services can support them
- Liaise with HMRC on client matters, managing correspondence effectively
- Supervise and train members of the tax team
- Work with the accounting team to identify opportunities across our client base
- Work with the marketing and business development team to advertise our tax offering to the marketplace
Key Skills, Experiences and Attitudes
- A minimum of 5 years working at Senior Manager level within an accountancy practice
- ATT or CTA qualified or partâqualified
- Clientâdriven, relationshipâfocused, proâactive and detailâoriented approach
- Experience of using IRIS software useful, but not essential
