Following sustained growth, Brabner Fox has been retained to secure a hands-on IT Engineer in Liverpool. We deliver critical, managed IT infrastructure directly to schools, ensuring digital learning environments run flawlessly.

Bridging team leadership and hands-on delivery, you will lead a dedicated team of Liverpool-based IT Technicians. You will own senior client relationships with school leadership teams, oversee service desk operations, and act as the senior point of escalation for complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hands on Technical Leadership: Line-manage, schedule, and mentor a team of field technicians. Drive performance and support career development.
  • Education Tech stack: Windows network, AD, Group policy, Hyper-V, 365, Azure, Cloud Security.
  • Service Delivery: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service desk.
  • Technical Escalation: 2nd/3rd line Engineer for Client issues & escalations.
  • Compliance & Safeguarding: Oversee school ISP lines, security, web filtering, and firewalls.
  • Account Management: Own senior relationships across selected schools, managing complaints and identifying commercial project opportunities.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing or coordinating field technicians/service desk engineers (MSP or Education sector preferred).
  • Technical Breadth: Strong background in OS deployment, MDM licensing, and cloud systems architecture.
  • Communication: Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical school staff.
  • Driving License: Full driving license & vehicle required for travel across Liverpool/Merseyside school sites.
