A great opportunity to join our dedicated Commercial Sales Team servicing and managing a full range of BQI customers dedicated to our SME & Corporate clients, incorporating long-standing, new clients, linked corporate businesses, contractors, property owners, motor trade, motor fleet plus many other client requirements. Our team members have full exposure to the range of businesses & classes of Insurance BQI deal with.
The opportunity
You’ll be responsible for developing a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses and the risks they face. You’ll proactively contact your client prior to renewal, review their insurance programmes to identify any gaps in cover and, should any be highlighted, suggest appropriate means to mitigate these. You’ll be responsible for the full renewal cycle and will have access to a range of mainstream composite insurers, specialist carriers and MGA’s. You will use your superb negotiation skills to secure your clients the most comprehensive levels of cover at competitive premiums.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- To retain existing clients through active client management.
- To build clients' confidence in BQI through demonstrating knowledge and delivery of service.
- To identify and contact potential clients, converting to new business.
- Networking to increase awareness of BQI/JMG proposition.
- To communicate the firms’ proposition to clients effectively.
- To generate referrals and make introductions for the client to other areas of the firms’ operations.
- To follow BQI processes and policies.
- To work within FCA rules and guidance as interpreted by the firms’ compliance policies and processes.
- To proactively create, manage and follow through prospects to create a pipeline of prospective new clients.
- To collect fees and premiums in accordance with the firms’ processes.
- To build good working relationships with your immediate team and all other stakeholders and effectively network with suppliers and clients.
- To achieve assigned sales targets.
What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Account Handler, ideally with 1-2 years industry exposure.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products.
- Experience of working to high standards of FCA compliance.
- Consistent record of target achievement and business growth.
- I.T. skills including use of an insurance IT system, ideally Acturis.
- Strong organisation skills.
- The ability to work to a high level of accuracy.
- Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers.
- Regulatory and compliance awareness.
- Willingness to work towards Cert CII or already hold qualifications.
