Role Purpose: We’re on a mission to transform B&Q into the UK’s most loved home improvement brand on social. We’re looking for a bold, strategic Social Media & Influencer Manager to lead that transformation — not just to grow our presence, but to reshape how we show up, connect, and inspire across platforms. This is a big-picture role with real impact. You’ll drive platform-native campaigns, shape our brand voice, and lead storytelling that turns scrollers into shoppers and fans into advocates. From trend-led TikToks to YouTube series, influencer partnerships to empowering store colleagues as creators — you’ll bring cultural relevance, creative leadership, and performance focus to every post.
What\’s the job?
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
You’ll be the strategic lead and creative force behind B&Q’s social media presence. Your day-to-day will be fast-paced and collaborative — from developing thumb-stopping campaigns and creator content to launching new products and jumping on real-time trends. Here’s what you’ll own:
- Content Strategy: Lead evergreen, product, and reactive campaigns with platform-native creative.
- YouTube Growth: Mentor a YouTube Specialist, own the growth strategy, and deliver engaging, how-to content.
- Influencer Partnerships: Build authentic creator collaborations and align with performance teams to drive ROI.
- Colleague Content: Empower store teams to create engaging, native content with toolkits and training.
- Trend Spotting: Stay ahead of platform updates, trends, and emerging creators.
- Performance & Leadership: Set KPIs, optimise content, and lead a small but mighty team.
- Community Engagement: Partner with customer service to ensure a consistent, human brand voice.
- Paid & Organic Integration: Align with paid teams to amplify high-performing content and drive results.
- Creator Events: Collaborate on social-first influencer activations and product showcases.
