Under the direction of the Retail Media Advertising Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless activation, optimisation, and reporting of Retail Media campaigns. By managing campaign setup, monitoring performance, and delivering industry-leading insights, you will help drive data-driven decisions that maximise the success of onsite, offsite, and in-store campaigns.
This role sits within the Retail Media team and supports vendors and sellers by ensuring campaigns are launched effectively, optimised for performance, and backed by accurate, actionable insights. The work you do will contribute to a growing revenue stream for B&Q, helping the business achieve its overall growth targets. You will be professional, analytical, and detail-oriented, building a strong profile within the business as a key enabler of high-performing, data-driven Retail Media campaigns.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Campaign Activation & Ad Operations:
- Review and approve Retail Media campaigns to ensure they align with best practices, platform capabilities, and performance goals.
- Work closely with channel teams (e.g., paid search, paid social, display) to facilitate seamless campaign setup, ensuring correct targeting, budget allocation, and creative execution.
- Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during campaign activation, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure timely fixes.
Campaign Monitoring & Optimisation:
- Continuously track campaign performance, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for real-time optimisation.
- Proactively suggest adjustments to budgets, bids, targeting, and creative elements to enhance performance and maximise ROAS.
Reporting & Insights:
- Take ownership of campaign performance reporting to ensure insights align with campaign goals and strategies.
- Develop detailed post-campaign analysis (PCA) for Retail Media Partnerships teams, providing actionable recommendations to improve performance and drive growth.
- Monitor campaign performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimisation, escalating performance issues promptly and supporting their resolution.
- Support the team by creating templates and guidelines for standardised reporting, ensuring consistency across campaigns.
- Act as the primary contact for all reporting-related queries, ensuring insights are communicated clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration & Best Practices:
- Work closely with Performance Media, Analytics, and Customer teams to ensure reporting aligns with wider B&Q objectives & guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with Retail Media best practices, measurement techniques, and industry developments through self-driven learning and collaboration across teams and agency partners.
- Participate in team planning for seasonal campaigns, providing insights from previous data to inform strategy.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Confident in stakeholder management, building strong relationships across teams and with external partners to ensure reporting meets business needs.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organisational and operational management skills.
- A collaborative and proactive team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reporting and analysis tools such as Power BI, Data Studio, and GA4 is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse campaign performance data and provide actionable recommendations for optimisation and growth.
- Experience with digital media channels, including paid search, paid social, and display, is desirable but not essential.
- Previous exposure to Retail Media platforms, such as Citrus Ads, is desirable but not required.
- A strong problem-solver who can identify and resolve performance issues efficiently, communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.
