Role Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Product Manager for Store experience, the Product Owner for Productivity and Mobility will look after Workforce, Task management and Digital Colleague Application tools as well as the hardware our colleagues use to access these tools (e.g. handheld devices and headsets). You will play a pivotal role in transforming the colleague experience. Your mission is to empower our 20,000 store colleagues with mobile-first tools that support efficient operations, simplify tasks and increase value-adding activity time in our stores. In this role, you will define and drive the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs and B&Qs strategy. Working closely across Retail and technology stakeholders (including Infrastructure and Hardware teams) you will shape new features / capabilities and manage the product backlog, balancing technical complexity with customer value, delivering high quality experiences through defining MVPs and acceptance criteria. You\'ll foster agile development, support innovation through market awareness and test-and-learn approaches, and champion improved ways of working across B&Q and Kingfisher.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
- Product Vision - To set a clear vision and roadmap for product driven by a robust understand of customer needs and business objectives that a product or feature will fulfil and clearly articulates what success looks like for a product.
- Defining New Demand – Collaborate with B&Q teams, KITS, 3rd parties and product team to define new demand ensuring it is well understood and its benefits effectively valued and aligned with customer insight
- Backlog Management – Manage backlog for product ensuring priorities are clearly understand based on technical complexity vs business and customer value and technical complexity and these assumptions can be fed into team planning
- Planning - Works with teams and delivery lead on planning product releases, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged, delivery is planned and in alignment with other business priorities and proactively manage cross-team dependencies
- Delivery – Understands all business and customer requirements to define MVP and acceptance criteria. Working with design, research and engineering to deliver high quality, high performing customer experiences which align to product vision and business goals.
- Drives Performance – Agrees and tracks key metrics with stakeholders to measure output and delivery results against objectives. Closely monitors performance of the product and recommends improvements to maximise value and ensuring we get the best value out of our toolkit and resources. Manages all A/B testing activity within the product to ensure clear, data driven decisions are made on the back of test results
- Stakeholder Management – Collaborates with B&Q teams, KITS and 3rd parties across all key development activity, including, demand definition, quarterly planning and communicating outcomes and success
- Agile Development Culture - Help create an agile culture within the B&Q business, particularly within business areas involved in technology projects
- Continuous Improvement - Support the identification of improvements that can be made to ways of working around B&Q and Kingfisher group in developing and deploying technology
- Innovation – Keeps clear understand of what is happening in the market, drives innovation into the product through test and learn approach to ensure we are keeping pace and where possible exceeding customer expectations
Required Skills & Experience:
- Retail technology
- Experience working with customer research and data to define new products and propositions for customers
- Experience working in Agile including Backlog Management
- Strong commercial accruement
- Experience with significant stakeholder management
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work with ambiguity and challenge
- Training or certification in Agile methodology (preferable)
