Overview We believe anyone can improve their home to make life better. From our Southampton Store Support office (SSO) we equip our stores, people and business with everything it takes to help millions of customers create a home they’ll love. Join us as a Product Manager (Supply Chain & Fulfilment) and you’ll be a big part of this.

Role Purpose As a Product Manager within the wider Supply Chain, Fulfilment and Customer Services domain, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders across B&Q and Kingfisher to identify and deliver technology that supports our customers and colleagues. You will create a prioritised backlog with input from stakeholders to unlock value at pace and maximise return on investment. Within our domain, the work can be varied and will initially support legacy technology migration and the opening of our new Bathrooms Fulfilment Centre in Wellingborough and ongoing investment in our fulfilment network.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver against a prioritised backlog for tech development, working closely with key business stakeholders and aligning to B&Q strategic priorities.
  • Support early design work alongside the Architecture Team to estimate effort and cost and identify appropriate delivery routes for new requirements.
  • Use data and research to identify and quantify opportunities, including spending time in our retail and logistics networks to immerse yourself in operations.
  • Work closely with Group Technology teams to provide input from B&Q to support planning and prioritisation.
  • Influence the roadmap for major Group technology and digital projects (e.g., Data, Cloud) to shape scope and prioritisation.
  • Prepare initiatives for funding through the approval process, optimising returns on the B&Q technology investment and staying within budget with Finance and Programme teams.
  • Identify and collaborate on innovation opportunities for B&Q and the Kingfisher Group.
  • Support the selection of technology providers as required.
  • Help create an agile product‑led culture within B&Q, demonstrating how technology delivers value iteratively.
  • Support the identification of improvements to ways of working around B&Q and Kingfisher group in deploying technology.
  • Initially, this role will not work directly with its own development squad; the focus is on delivering value through vendors and group‑managed technology teams.

Key Business Relationships

  • Build effective working relationships with supply chain, logistics, and digital stakeholders, and with logistics and technology partners.
  • Develop a good understanding of business processes and supporting technology to identify how technology enables better ways of working.
  • Represent B&Q in planning, design and prioritisation discussions across Group Technology and serve in governance forums.
  • Maintain outward focus on retail technology landscape, building relationships with technology vendors and partners.
  • Serve as a key part of the B&Q Product & Technology team, owning the technology roadmap.

What We Need – Skills & Experience

  • Experience of digital product management and delivery of tech initiatives.
  • Preferred experience with logistics technologies (warehouse management, carrier management, order management) or strong background in retail organisations.
  • Experience in backlog management and prioritisation frameworks.
  • Demonstrable evidence of building relationships and influencing across work levels, including senior leadership.
  • Business case development and budget management.
  • Structured problem solving with a focus on the bigger picture.
  • Product thought leadership and ability to embed a product‑led culture.
  • Comfort with ambiguity to identify technology opportunities aligned with business strategy.

While this is a Product Manager role, experience delivering software in a product‑led/agile fashion as a Delivery or Project Manager is also welcome.
