What’s the job?
Work with your merchants to drive profitable growth on B&Q Marketplace. Support them by identifying and delivering sales opportunities at the right time and with the right tools at every stage on their growth journey on B&Q. These growth drivers will include securing the best merchant assortment, improving content quality and reviews, increasing product visibility with promotions, as well as hitting retail media goals. Cultivate long term merchant relationships that accelerate their engagement and investment, eventually making B&Q their first-choice marketplace. In addition to your account management responsibilities, you will also support merchant growth project(s). Once live, these tools are used by all our account managers to enhance merchant performance. As a subject matter expert, you will guide the internal business teams towards the same goal and ensure that these tools deliver their ambitions and are flawlessly deployed.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Deliver target GMV, Take Rate and Range growth for your merchants
- Establish merchant growth strategies to drive long term success
- Ensure merchants meet and exceed their quality metrics
- Engage and build relationships with top sellers to drive growth by planning assortment, pricing, traffic and promotional activities on B&Q to achieve sales goals
- Monthly reviews with top 30 accounts
- Identify and develop Merchant Growth Tools alongside other business stakeholders to drive marketplace-wide success for B&Q and our merchants
- Develop understanding of sub-category dynamics in the market, spot trends and develop category strategy to grow the segment on B&Q by leveraging support from your merchants
- Coordinate with other internal teams to ensure adequate support in areas like supply chain, customer service and marketing; ensure changes in our business create win-win scenarios for B&Q and our merchants
- Analyse and prepare weekly performance figures for management, active participation in weekly and monthly business
What We Need
Work experience
- At least 3-4 years’ experience in marketplace environment, e-commerce trading, digital platform or similar
- In-depth knowledge of e-commerce sales drivers
- Previous experience in a scale-up business is a plus
- Excellent merchant management and problem-solving skills with clear logical thinking
- Professional experience negotiating with sellers/suppliers and influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Able to deliver change and drive success against target
- Strong business judgement backed by analytical mindset and comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses
- Experience growing online sales, marketing, activating categories and driving traffic via merchandising/content
- Detail oriented; execution focused
- Persuasive written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with ability to present up to multi-level audience
