12 months Full Time Contract. Salary up to £57,000 plus pension, PMI, ShareSave, 6.6 weeks holiday, hybrid working (2 days per week in office). Location: Southampton, Store Support Office.

Role Purpose

The Portfolio Delivery Lead manages the B&Q Technology Portfolio and oversees an investment of over £51m in 2026. Acting as liaison between B&Q business stakeholders and B&Q and Group Technology teams, the role ensures the successful delivery of change initiatives by tracking key milestones, prioritising, and managing the portfolio while adhering to governance forums. Maintaining an accurate view of the portfolio is essential for facilitating investment decisions.

What's the job?

  • Oversee large strategic initiatives delivered for B&Q, understanding desired roadmaps from business teams and tracking technology teams’ delivery of key milestones.
  • Provide regular reporting statuses on all B&Q technology change within agreed tools and frameworks.
  • Facilitate new intake demand from business stakeholders, ensuring clear problem statements with defined value are prioritised into the backlog.
  • Work with Group technology teams to facilitate communication on issues and progress back to B&Q.
  • Provide details of future roadmaps to Group teams so they can plan capacity and minimise delivery delays.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to facilitate high‑level estimations for future opportunities.
  • Collaborate innovatively with business and Group teams to accelerate time to value through agile delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships with third parties when required.
  • Oversee management of legal, fiscal, or regulatory changes, facilitating the intake process and tracking work to completion.
  • Build and manage plans for delivery of small works projects that are not product aligned.
  • Work with the B&Q PMO team to provide status updates to the wider B&Q business and senior management.
  • Collaborate with other portfolio team members to provide central reporting that is accessible and current.
  • Assist with pulling together Investment Appraisals where initiatives require funding approval.
