Overview

Store Delivery Driver – Full Time, 36.75 hours per week over 4 days. Permanent contract with shifts available Monday to Sunday, 6.00am – 10.00pm at B&Q Doncaster. UK notional hourly rate £13.46 per hour. Note: heavy lifting will be required. Additional tasks will form part of this role during quieter periods, such as picking stock.

Role Summary

Join us as a Store Delivery Driver and be part of delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring deliveries are received in excellent condition and on time – every time. You will be responsible for local home deliveries in our fleet of 3.5 ton vans and supporting on the shop floor when not delivering.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver multi-drop orders to customers’ homes using a 3.5 ton vehicle, handling loads that may include items such as paint or flooring.
  • Assist on the shop floor with fulfilling customer orders and supporting colleagues where needed.
  • Operate safely and efficiently, representing the B&Q brand and putting customers first at all times.
  • Utilise new technology to fulfil orders and contribute to a smooth delivery process.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required and adapt to varying workloads.

What we need

  • Great communication skills with clear thinking and the ability to plan effectively under busy conditions.
  • Organised and analytical mindset with a focus on simplicity.
  • A manual UK driving licence (Category B/B1) held for at least 1 year with no more than 6 points.
  • Experience as a multi-drop delivery driver is useful but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
  • Compliance checks: DVLA verification and Experian screening; DBS check will be conducted if successful. Any discrepancies will be discussed directly with you.
