Every day, we give our millions of customers the ideas, advice, tools, and confidence they need to create a home they’ll love. Join us as a Sales Team Manager and you will be pivotal in driving sales across our showroom and TradePoint departments.

At B&Q, we’re passionate about progression and we’re committed to growing talent from within. We also recognise the important experience that new leaders add, onboarding several designate managers through the year.

As a B&Q designate manager, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about us and our business, typically spending 3-6 months working across a cluster of stores (in the West Midlands area). You’ll experience management training in various store formats before being placed into your own department or store.

Due to the nature of this role, there’ll be some flexibility and travel required during your time as a designate, before being placed within a store that matches your experience within 50 miles of where you live.

What's the job?

A great team needs a great leader and your role as a Sales Team Manager is to lead two of the most strategically important areas of our store — Showrooms and TradePoint. You’ll bring together dynamic, sales-focused teams and create a culture where every colleague is confident, proactive, and laser-focused on fulfilling B&Q’s ambition of making every customer count. You’ll make a real difference through sales coaching and performance leadership and build a high-performing team.

In this role you will:

  • Support our sales colleagues to build deep product knowledge and be confident to sell.
  • Use customer insights and performance data to spot opportunities and respond at pace.
  • Build strong local customer relationships, with a focus on Tradespeople.

What we need:

  • You enjoy observing, listening and communicating ways to continuously improve and celebrate success.
  • Are comfortable having meaningful discussions about performance.
  • At your best building rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Like to be well planned and organised and thrive in being agile with your plans when needed.
  • Natural analytical rigour and can spot opportunities to increase sales.

What's in it for me?

As part of a great team, you’ll be valued for who you are. We’re committed to making B&Q more diverse and representative of the communities we serve, where everyone can feel they belong and have equal opportunities. You will have access to a range of networks that represent our colleagues and allies and help us to continue to put diversity and inclusion at the heart of our business.

We also recognise that wellness means different things to different people, and we want to help colleagues be at their best and feel well by offering a range of benefits to help you. As well as a competitive salary, our benefits package includes:
