Join us as a Portfolio Delivery Lead and you’ll be a big part of this.

Role Purpose: The Portfolio Delivery Lead is pivotal in managing the B&Q Technology Portfolio, overseeing an investment of over £51m in 2026. Acting as a liaison between B&Q business stakeholders and B&Q and Group Technology teams, the Portfolio Delivery Lead ensures the successful delivery of change initiatives, by closely tracking key milestones. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio & Transformation, the role utilises appropriate frameworks and tools to prioritise, track, and manage the portfolio while adhering to governance forums. Maintaining a clear and accurate view of the portfolio is essential for facilitating investment decisions.

What's the job?

  • Overseeing the large strategic initiatives being delivered for B&Q.
  • Understanding the desired roadmaps from the business teams and tracking the Group and B&Q technology teams’ delivery of key milestones.
  • Provide regular reporting statuses on all B&Q technology change within agreed tools and frameworks.
  • Facilitate new intake demand from business stakeholders, working to ensure we have clear problem statements with defined value to be prioritised into the backlog for B&Q.
  • Work with Group technology teams to help facilitate communication on issues / challenges and progress back into B&Q.
  • Provide details of future roadmaps to Group teams to ensure they actively plan to flex their team capacity as required, minimising any delay to delivery.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects to facilitate high level estimations for future opportunities as required.
  • Collaborate innovatively with business and Group teams to accelerate time to value through agile delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships with third parties where required.
  • Oversee the management of legal, fiscal, or regulatory changes, facilitating the intake process and tracking work to completion.
  • Build and manage plans for the delivery of small works projects (non-product aligned initiatives).
  • Working with B&Q PMO team to provide status updates to the wider B&Q business and senior management.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Portfolio team to provide central reporting that is accessible and current.
  • Assist with pulling together Investment Appraisals where initiatives require funding approval.
