Join us as a Campaign & Advertising Manager and you’ll be a big part of this.
Role Purpose: Developing world-class campaign creative for our Customer & Marketing function, across the B&Q and TradePoint brands. Owning the media planning and creative production across all paid advertising channels for the two brands. Responsible for the effectiveness of campaign output at a creative and media level. Remit spans across both national trading and brand campaigns, as well as local marketing activity.
What’s the job?
- Developing multi-channel creative campaigns for C&M, including master AV assets, master static assets and master copy, across B&Q and TradePoint national comms and B&Q local comms.
- Owning and executing advertising campaigns end to end, starting with the media strategy, right through to creative production and delivery of all ATL and digital channels.
- Works closely with Customer Planning to support the delivery of their cross-channel campaigns, acting as a consultant to C&M channels to ensure integration.
- Be the go-to person for their workstreams, working with the C&A Lead to define processes for stakeholder management across the MLT and the wider business.
- Day-to-day management of the creative and media agencies, providing clear briefs and timely feedback to ensure a first-rate output that is on time and on budget.
- Support the C&A Lead in allocating the c. £25m budget across media, production and agency resource for B&Q and TradePoint. Recommending how to utilise the significant budget across the two brands and then owning the proportion of this budget for their projects.
- Reporting on the effectiveness of their campaigns and advertising activity. Working with our media agency, Insight team and effectiveness partners to provide clear, action-based insight to allow for continuous improvement in creative development and media channel mix.
- Partner with the Performance Media team to maximise efficiency of digital media budgets on shared projects.
- Supports the development of the C&A Executive by acting as a partner and mentor across campaign and advertising activity.
- Staying on the pulse of the advertising industry through advertising bodies such as ISBA, our agencies and the trade press.
- Supports the Lead in managing and reporting on the team’s budget effectively.
What we need:
- A minimum of 5 years advertising or campaign experience, ideally within the retail or services sectors
- Strong creative judgement, with a focus on highest quality, even when under pressure for delivery.
- Understanding of the full paid media mix, including how to maximise channels within media planning.
- Passion for using effectiveness insights to shape and improve campaign and advertising output.
- Confident in developing effective working relationships with external agencies/partners and achieving high standards and performance.
- A real focus on delivery, striving for all output to be on time and on budget.
- Strong influencing skills, both with peers and senior stakeholders.
- Flexible with the ability to respond to change/new challenges at pace.
- Proficient in managing financials and invoicing.
