We widely encourage internal mobility and as such, an opportunity has arisen for a strategic and diligent individual to take up the Head of Law role in Manchester The Head of Law will provide strategic leadership working with multiple central teams, the Deputy Dean and other relevant stakeholders and will have oversight and responsibility for implementing and supporting the Law School strategy in the centre to achieve excellence in programme delivery, student support, student experience, student community and progression on all programmes . What you’ll be doing I n this role you will be central to the profile of the Law School with existing students , future students and and in the local business community . You will also work from time to time with the Law School Senior Management team as required on specific projects and liaise with BPP’s Marketing and Outreach Team on outreach initiatives related to the development of the centre and other law school centres as necessary. As such, you will be responsible for: Ensuring a clear overview of all faculty engaged on the programmes and supporting students and their performance, and that any training needs or issues are appropriately raised and resolved. Working with the Deputy Dean and other relevant parties to ensure that all student issues are appropriately raised and investigated. Collect, review and reflect upon centre specific student feedback with a view to collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance the student experience. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders develop a ‘centre of community’ for students and faculty. Engaging with regional and (as appropriate) national law firms and organisations to develop future business for the Law School. Work with Law School Director of Staffing and Operations and Heads of Faculty in recruitment activities. As required and agreed from time to time, play an active role within all appropriate university committees including Law School Boards. What we’re looking for For this opportunity we are currently looking for: A qualified solicitor or barrister (with practice experience) A relevant degree and either higher degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in areas covered by the Law School Proven management and leadership experience Knowledge of the UK Higher Education Law School sector Business development and client relationship management Experience of change management Experience of quality assurance, analysing data and report writing Passion for education and learning How will this process work?
