We are recruiting a Faculty Leader to line manage the School’s faculty team. You will work closely with the Deputy Director of Staffing and our Senior Management Team, to ensure the quality and integrity of the Business School’s portfolio is assured by the effective recruitment, on-boarding, training and line management of our academic faculty.**What you’ll be doing**The role of the Faculty Manager will involve the following responsibilities:* Line manage a team of faculty staff, including responsibility for all Performance and Career Development conversations* Setting and monitoring targets for faculty, identifying any performance or capability issues and putting plans in place to address them* Support with the recruitment, onboarding and training of new members of faculty, working with key stakeholders from both within the School and the BPP group as a whole* Liaise closely with the School’s Resourcing team to support with planning faculty’s workload* Ensuring faculty members are fully work-loaded to maintain operating efficiencies within the School, whilst also balancing the wellbeing of members of the team* Ensuring the continuous professional development of faculty staff remains current and exploring ways for them to develop, including academic scholarship activities* Support our Quality Team with carrying out teaching observations of faculty across the School to ensure consistent teaching standards are being implemented.* Support with putting in place training plans for all faculty within the School, specific to their individual training needs (working with the respective Award Leaders)* Support the School with initiatives to develop and retain talent and improve working life within the School and BPP as a whole* Working with HR to ensure all BPP policies and governance are adhered to.**What experience you’ll need**To be successful in this position, you will need the following experience:**Essential*** Experience in recruitment, onboarding and training of new staff* Strong leadership and management experience.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;* Enthusiastic and people focussed;* Exceptional attention to detail;* Ability to work under pressure, make decisions and apply flexible solutions;* The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload;* The ability to work well in a team and be collaborative;**Desirable*** Experience of working in higher education;* Experience of operational organisation including developing new systems and processes.* Experience at producing and managing documentation.BPP are a Disability Confident employer so if you need any reasonable adjustments for the interview process, please just let us know!BPP Education Group reserves the right to amend or withdraw this advertisement at any time prior to the closing date, should we receive a high volume of applications or if business needs change.BPP actively promotes equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential, and welcomes applications from a wide range of candidates.
