About us: BPJ Construction are a well-established, family-run construction company with over 40 years of industry experience, seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Wantage. Our work primarily involves commercial refurbishment projects within the private and educational sectors, alongside domestic alterations and extensions. Please note that the company does not offer sponsorship and therefore candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK and live within a commutable distance from Wantage to be considered for this role.

About the role: The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for undertaking tender returns and must be confident in pricing project tenders, formulating project costs, and preparing quotations accurately. The role will also involve managing the financial aspects of projects and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. This position offers a high level of trust and autonomy, and would suit someone who is organised, commercially aware, and capable of managing their own workload effectively across multiple projects.

Key duties:

  • Preparing and submitting tender returns
  • Pricing construction project tenders accurately
  • Producing project cost plans and quotations
  • Managing project costs and financial reporting
  • Supporting projects from a commercial perspective
  • Developing and maintaining consultant and client relationships
  • Managing workload and priorities independently
  • Assisting with securing and developing new business opportunities

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor is essential
  • Approximately 10 years' Quantity Surveying experience within construction
  • Experience in tender pricing and cost estimation
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be locally based and able to work from our Wantage office Monday to Friday
