£38,000 including £2000 car allowance Permanent, Full Time. The role covers various service locations and requires regular travel. The Senior Housing Officer (Independent Living) is responsible for providing specialist housing management expertise and professional support across Independent Living services. The role acts as the lead practitioner for complex tenancy management, safeguarding, risk management and customer wellbeing cases.

Working closely with operational colleagues, the postholder will champion best practice, support continuous improvement, coach and mentor team members, and help ensure services remain compliant, customer-focused and outcomes-driven.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support complex tenancy, safeguarding and risk management cases.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on housing management matters.
  • Coordinate multi-agency interventions and build effective partnerships to support customer outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor and support the development of Scheme Managers and Independent Living colleagues.
  • Carry out quality assurance activities, audits and service reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and support the implementation of best practice.
  • Support operational resilience and service continuity across schemes when required.
  • Promote customer wellbeing, independence and tenancy sustainment.

Person SpecificationKnowledge and Experience

  • Significant experience in housing management.
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable customers.
  • Experience of complex case management.
  • Experience of safeguarding adults and risk management.
  • Experience of multi-agency working and partnership development.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Experience of quality assurance, auditing or service improvement activities.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management practice.
  • Knowledge of mental health, dementia, self-neglect, hoarding and safeguarding practices.
  • CIH qualification or equivalent professional experience.
