Fire Safety Project Officer

Bedford (Hybrid)

ÂŁ43,500 per annum including car allowance

Full-time, 37 hours per week | Permanent

About the Role

You’ll support our designated “competent person” and work closely with the Building Safety Manager, Fire Safety Project Manager, and Fire Safety Officers to ensure our buildings meet all legal fire safety requirements. Your work will directly contribute to safer homes and communities by driving continuous improvement and raising fire safety awareness across our organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering fire safety projects with clear performance targets
  • Ensuring all projects meet bpha’s standards for cost, time, and quality
  • Recommending protective and preventative fire safety measures
  • Advising colleagues, contractors, and partners on fire safety legislation and best practice
  • Promoting fire safety awareness among residents and recommending risk-reduction strategies
  • Collaborating across teams to support fire safety across all bpha buildings

We’re Looking for Someone Who

  • Has strong experience in fire safety enforcement or fire risk assessment, especially in housing
  • Understands fire safety legislation, codes of practice, and guidance
  • Has experience managing contracts and understanding construction health and safety
  • Holds a recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification
