About Us:
Our residents, shared owners and leaseholders are at the core of everything we do at bpha. With every employee playing an important part in ensuring we continue to provide them with excellent customer service and maintaining our role as a responsible landlord. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Infrastructure team. This is a hybrid role based between home and Head Office at Bedford Heights. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases as well as (but not limited to) planning, development, and troubleshooting to ensure the smooth operation of database systems.
What you will be doing:

Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems.
*
Monitor and optimize the performance of the database, including SQL tuning.
*
Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures to ensure the safety of data.
*
Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery plans.
*
Ensure the integrity of the database, guaranteeing that data is accurate and consistent.
*
Identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
*
Provide support to users, assisting with database-related technical issues.
*
Create and maintain documentation.
*
Ensure databases meet compliance standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
*
Work closely with the Corporate Programme Office, IT project managers, developers, and other team members to meet goals.

Any other duties as reasonably required.
We’d love to meet someone with:

Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.
*
Relevant degree and/or DPA-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator
*
Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications, excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
*
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*
Experience with Microsoft Azure.
*
Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
*
Knowledge of automation tools.
Please note the successful candidate will need to complete a basic DBS application.
