As Fire & Building Safety Manager, you will:

  • Lead the planning, delivery and assurance of fire and building safety projects across our housing portfolio.
  • Support compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Order and associated legislation.
  • Develop, maintain and update Building Safety Case Reports and Golden Thread information.
  • Manage fire risk assessments and oversee remediation programmes, ensuring actions are delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Monitor contractor and consultant performance, ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and other statutory requirements.
  • Produce high-quality compliance reports, governance papers, project reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Build strong working relationships with residents, regulators, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits and investigations.
  • Lead and develop team members, providing guidance, support and performance management.
  • Participate in out-of-hours escalation and incident response arrangements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across fire and building safety processes and practices.

We're looking for someone who can bring:

  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Order and relevant building safety legislation.
  • Experience delivering fire and building safety projects within housing, construction, property or a related environment.
  • Understanding of Building Safety Cases, Golden Thread requirements and compliance reporting.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and contractor management.
  • Excellent report-writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or managing colleagues.
  • A commitment to resident safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant fire or building safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • Building-related degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a fire or building safety role.
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
