Location: Bedford (Hybrid)

Permanent, Full time - 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)

We are looking for a Fire Door Specialist to support the cyclical Fire Door Inspection process across our sites. This includes High Rise Buildings (HRB) and their communal areas. You will work closely with and support the Building Safety Manager, other Compliance teams colleagues and stakeholders in the business to ensure Fire Doors are fit for purpose as directed by Government guidance and that the correct documentation is in place. Most work will be conducted in customers' homes, so as a company we strive to deliver a high quality, customer focussed service, so correct first-time fixes and good standard of work are of high importance.

What you will be doing:

  • Undertaking remedial works identified from Fire Risk Assessments when required.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken to accord with bpha's cost, time, quality expectations and seek to ensure performance which consistently meets bpha's requirements.
  • Attending all required training, toolbox talks, one to ones and appraisals, embracing the opportunity for challenge, personal growth, and development.
  • Engaging with other team members as required.
  • Carry out cyclical Fire Door inspections and remedial works where required in line with Government guidance.
  • Produce comprehensive and accurate documentation on the appropriate digital system(s).
  • Work closely with the Building Safety Manager, Fire Safety Project Manager and deputies when required across all Buildings.

We'd love to meet someone with:

  • Ability to take ownership of issues/problems and personally see them through to delivery.
  • IT skills suitable for carrying out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device.
  • NVQ level 2 or higher.
  • Ideally BM Trada Q or other Fire Door accredited inspection body qualification.
  • Good understanding of health and safety in Construction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • A strong, demonstrable commitment to excellence in customer service.
