Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Driver role based in Coalville. The Driver will safely operate company trucks to transport hydraulic excavator attachments and related equipment to customer sites and depots. Day‑to‑day tasks include:
- Planning routes
- Carrying out pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections
- Loading and securing equipment
- Completing delivery and collection documentation
The role involves liaising with customers and internal teams to confirm delivery times, resolve basic queries, and ensure a professional service at all times. The Driver will also assist with basic vehicle cleanliness, adherence to safety procedures, and compliance with relevant road transport regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation, manoeuvring, and route planning for commercial vehicles
- Valid CDL Class A (or UK equivalent HGV license) with a clean or low‑risk driving record
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, warehouse teams, and site contacts
- Customer service skills to represent the company professionally at customer locations and handle basic delivery queries
- Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely and use appropriate lifting and securing equipment
- Good knowledge of road safety rules, transport regulations, and vehicle inspection procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
