Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Driver role based in Coalville. The Driver will safely operate company trucks to transport hydraulic excavator attachments and related equipment to customer sites and depots. Day‑to‑day tasks include:

  • Planning routes
  • Carrying out pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections
  • Loading and securing equipment
  • Completing delivery and collection documentation

The role involves liaising with customers and internal teams to confirm delivery times, resolve basic queries, and ensure a professional service at all times. The Driver will also assist with basic vehicle cleanliness, adherence to safety procedures, and compliance with relevant road transport regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation, manoeuvring, and route planning for commercial vehicles
  • Valid CDL Class A (or UK equivalent HGV license) with a clean or low‑risk driving record
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, warehouse teams, and site contacts
  • Customer service skills to represent the company professionally at customer locations and handle basic delivery queries
  • Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely and use appropriate lifting and securing equipment
  • Good knowledge of road safety rules, transport regulations, and vehicle inspection procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience in construction, plant hire, or related sectors is an advantage
