Strategic Sourcing Manager - Ingredients

We are partnering with a London-based international food business to identify an entrepreneurial, agile, and driven Strategic Sourcing Manager – Ingredients to join their newly created centralised procurement team. This pivotal role will lead group-wide category management for a range of raw materials and commodities, contributing directly to the company’s procurement transformation.

To succeed, you will need demonstrable experience in category strategy definition and ingredients sourcing within a complex, international food manufacturing environment. As a strong advocate for procurement, you will play a key role in aligning category strategies with broader business objectives. A solid background in supplier and stakeholder management is essential, as well as proximity to London.

Responsibilities

In this critical position, you will:

• Define the strategic direction for your assigned categories.
• Leverage group scale and expertise to deliver savings projects and optimize cost structures.
• Take a hands-on approach to ensure successful strategy implementation and the achievement of savings objectives across the Group.
• Utilize leadership, collaboration, analytical expertise, and commercial acumen to execute best-in-class procurement practices.

Key Skills and Experience

• A graduate qualification is required; a master’s degree is ideal.
• Significant experience in strategic sourcing of food ingredients.
• Expertise in category management and sourcing practices from one or more leading organizations.
• Proven track record managing sourcing categories across multiple geographies.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and business understanding.
• Ability to lead, influence, collaborate, and effectively engage with multiple stakeholders.
• Action-oriented with the ability to overcome obstacles and deliver results through operational detail.
• Experienced in autonomously managing all aspects of sourcing within a category.
