To maintain the integrity of mechanical systems ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements and in response to breakdowns. To oversee and develop a system which implements and records the completion of maintenance and inspection on plant and equipment at allocated locations. You will also provide maintenance and inspection services to maintain 98% plant availability targets within COMAH Top Tier storage terminals and pipeline systems operated by BPA.

Complete maintenance, testing and adjustments on mechanical systems including equipment covered by the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR) and critical to Process Safety Management considering COMAH Regulations. Attain and maintain competency as an authorised person to work on mechanical systems including responsibility to produce and implement mechanical isolations. Complete and supervise maintenance, fault finding and repair on all Mechanical Systems within operational sites. Systems include high-pressure pipework, high-pressure multi-stage pumps, PSSR equipment, bulk storage tanks, actuation systems, oily water separation/treatment systems, fiscal metering, level gauging, security.

Operating Authority responsibilities under the BPA Permit to work system including supervision of colleagues and contractors in safe systems of work, including preparation of risk assessments, work procedures, issuing mechanical isolation certificates and gas test certificates. This includes working with 3rd party site operator systems as required to obtain necessary work permits. Act as focal point for engineering projects having an input into all stages of the project plan ensuring works are planned and completed with due regard to requirements for safety and operations.

Work to planned maintenance and inspection procedures and schedules, using the maintenance management system including the upkeep of plant history files. Source suppliers, obtain quotes, agreement of terms and conditions, raise orders for goods and services required for maintenance and inspection responsibilities in accordance with the company purchasing system.

A recognised professional qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline to NVQ level 3 or equivalent standard or extensive demonstrable experience in lieu of this. Experience of maintenance, root cause fault analysis and ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency situations including dealing with emergency services and statutory bodies. Please note a full valid UK driving license is required for this role. You will also be provided with a company van.
