What's the Job About? You will join BPA’s Engineering team and provide on-site supervision and technical oversight to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of pipeline and facilities construction works. Acting as the Engineering Department’s representative, you will oversee activities from mobilisation through construction and commissioning, ensuring adherence to BPA procedures, engineering standards and client requirements. Working closely with Project Engineers, contractors and site operators, you will monitor progress, resolve technical issues and maintain strong working relationships. Through sound engineering judgement and effective control of cost, schedule and quality, you will support successful project delivery and contribute to BPA’s performance and reputation, escalating complex or high-risk issues as required.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supervise and control site construction activities from mobilisation through commissioning, ensuring full compliance with BPA procedures, HSSEQ requirements and applicable standards.
- Coordinate daily site operations, managing multiple work fronts to maintain programme, cost and quality targets.
- Act as BPA’s on-site engineering representative, liaising with contractors, site operators and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of scope and requirements.
- Work closely with Project Engineers to monitor progress, resolve technical and construction issues, and support contractor negotiations where required.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to deliver safe, practical solutions for pipeline and facilities construction, escalating high-risk or complex issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspections and reports to support project, commercial and contractual requirements.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project performance, financial outcomes and client satisfaction.
What You’ll Need:
- Engineering HNC (or equivalent technical qualification) and a full UK driving licence, with the willingness to achieve the NEBOSH Construction Certificate within 18 months.
- Strong knowledge of safe working practices, HSSEQ requirements and relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Good understanding of construction standards, specifications and technical requirements.
- Proven ability to supervise site construction activities, working effectively with contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Confident user of standard office and project documentation software.
- Clear communication, strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to apply sound engineering judgement in a practical site environment.
Salary: Basic salary of £42,000 – £47,000
