What will you be doing? This is a field-based engineering role focused on implementing and maintaining Operational Technology (OT) systems such as SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks. It involves site surveys, commissioning, troubleshooting, and supervising contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards while working independently across multiple UK sites. Frequent travel and overnight stays required.
- Manage workload under OT Manager’s direction and provide progress updates.
- Install, modify, and remove SCADA equipment per approved specifications.
- Conduct site surveys and support project planning/design.
- Liaise with operators, contractors, and engineers; manage Permit to Work.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Supervise contractors and maintain site records.
- Support commissioning, testing, and minor wiring modifications.
- Travel the Birmingham to London corridor.
What You’ll Need:
- Electrical qualification for SCADA panel wiring; knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations.
- Proven experience commissioning SCADA, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networks and telecoms in high-hazard environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage travel, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience supervising contractors, site surveys, and planning work.
- Comfortable with remote UK travel and overnight stays.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Obtained or willing to obtain CCNSG Safety Passport and Emergency First Aid certificate.
You need to have the right to work in the UK, a valid UK driving licence and be able to travel the Birmingham to London corridor.
Basic Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
