We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled HGV MET Technician to join our growing team in Newport. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional with extensive experience in repairing, removing, and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components on heavy goods vehicles. Your work will ensure vehicles are restored to manufacturer and safety standards, supporting our commitment to high‑quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out removal and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) components on HGVs
- Diagnose faults and assess vehicle damage accurately
- Perform repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and company standards
- Work closely with panel beaters and technicians to ensure efficient workflow
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets safety and compliance requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace
- Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV MET Technician or a similar role
- Strong hands‑on experience working with commercial/heavy goods vehicles
- Solid understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
