The Role
This is a varied and evolving role, where you will provide essential day to day technical support across the business to nearly 300 Employees, whilst also having the chance to explore areas like automation, Cyber security and light programming.
You will work closely with the Group IT Manager to help deliver smarter, safer solutions and a better technical experience for teams across our business divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-line IT support to users across multiple BP Rolls sites (remotely and in person)
- Set up and configure hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Maintain and troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft 365, internal systems, and networking equipment
- Log, track, and resolve IT issues efficiently through the helpdesk ticket system
- Assist with managing user accounts, file permissions, and software rollouts
- Get involved in scripting tasks and automation of routine processes
- Support ongoing IT projects, such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, or infrastructure improvements
- Help document systems and processes, contributing to an organised and secure IT environment
About You
- Experience in a similar IT support role (2β3 years preferred)
- Proficient in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Exposure to Azure, VPNs, remote access tools, routers, switches and firewalls
- A logical thinker with excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Genuinely interested in learning new technologies and exploring development tools or scripting
- Confident working both independently and as part of a wider team
- Willing to travel between sites on occasion (Andover, Newport, North West, Hull)
- Interest in automation, systems integration, or web tools
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles or endpoint protection tools
