BP Rolls is recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV & Recovery Driver who will assist operations in transporting light Commercial vehicles to / from the Depot and our Commercial Fleet customers’ premises / stores
45 hours per week – Ideally Tuesday – Saturday or 4 on 4 off rotation day shift
Class 1 HGV Recovery Driver
Our Commercial Fleet Mobile Division works with the UK Supermarket home shopping networks . We have a commitment to recover and repair home shopping vehicles to support their repair & maintenance programmes with minimum disruption to delivery schedules.
This HGV 1 role plays a critical part in the safe transportation and delivery of Home shopping vehicles between stores and workshop, ensuring both vehicle and paperwork are cared for inline with the respective regulations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with some recovery driving experience, able to be flexible with the demands of the role both physically and professionally. You must hold all necessary UK licenses and qualifications. No driving convictions will be considered.
Requirements of the role:
- Drive Company vehicles and operate Company equipment in a safe and professional manner in accordance with Company policies, procedures and legislation
- Carry out vehicle and equipment checks prior to the operation of any vehicle, reporting any defects immediately.
- Document and maintain accurate records of delivery notes, logs and safely file all relevant paperwork.
- Communicate professionally with our Commercial Clients where needed, with Customer Service in mind at all times.
- Compliance to all road safety & transport regulations, along with Company policies & procedures.
- Able to plan routes effectively and be willing to be flexible on unexpected delivery time changes & last-minute amendments. The nature of the role requires a little flexibility on schedule.
- Due to the nature of the work this role is physically demanding, and heavy manual handling is required. It is therefore essential that the successful applicant is capable to carry out this nature of work.

Essential skills / Qualifications
- You must hold a full UK Class 1 / Category CE Licence with demonstrable experience gained within an HGV driving career
- Must hold a Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Full Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC)
- Sound knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Effective team player, with a positive, flexible attitude to work.
- Good timekeeper, with the ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to handle the inevitable physical demands of the role
