We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering.

Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.

At bp, we're shaping the future of energy.

Our ST&S Refining & Products Trading business is a world-class trading organisation that connects global markets, customers and supply networks to deliver refined energy products safely, reliably and competitively.

Powered by market expertise, technology and diverse talent, we make complex decisions every day that help keep energy flowing around the world.

Our Trading Operations team is at the centre of global energy markets.

We turn commercial strategy into action, supporting the safe, efficient and compliant movement of crude oil, refined products, biofuels, chemicals, marine fuels and base oils around the world.

Working collaboratively across trading, logistics, supply and customer-facing teams, we help ensure energy products reach the right place at the right time.

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team where your expertise will influence critical business outcomes, solve complex challenges and contribute to the future of energy.

In the role of Trading Operations Co-Ordinator you will be responsible for making sure that important legal documents relating to the movement and ownership of cargo shipments are correct and processed in line with bp's contractual and legal obligations.

Accurate records need to be maintained so that the life journey of each document can be traced.

  • Role responsibilities
  • Support the smooth execution of global trade activities by managing and coordinating key shipping and commercial documentation.
  • Prepare and issue trade-related documentation, including invoices and other records that support international transactions.
  • Maintain accurate operational trackers and records to support reporting, compliance and business controls.
  • Review and validate documentation to ensure it meets contractual, legal and financing requirements, following up on any discrepancies or missing information.
  • Coordinate the timely exchange of documents with counterparties, banks and service providers around the world, helping ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and maintain product origin and shipment records to support regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with bp's Structured Trade Finance team to support trade finance activities and Letter of Credit processes for West Africa.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and audit trails within internal systems, helping ensure strong governance and compliance standards.
  • Build effective working relationships with Trading Operators and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of trading activities.
  • Role Requirements
  • Experience administering trade, shipping, logistics or export/import documentation.
  • Experience working with Letters of Credit, trade finance or documentary compliance processes.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including maintaining operational trackers and records.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven operational or administrative environment.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and audit trails within a regulated or controlled environment.
  • Proactive and enjoys working at a fast pace
  • Your Team

In this role you will be an important part of a small, specialized and forward-thinking team.

You will interact with Trading Operators on a daily basis, but will also need to utilize the expertise of Legal, Structured Trade Finance, Contracts and Invoice Settlement teams based in the UK and beyond.

You will also be part of a wider community of Trading Operations Co-Ordinators, which includes members in Singapore and in the USA.
