The Market Data Business Analyst will support bp's global market data strategy, governance, compliance, and cost optimisation activities. Working closely with business partners, technology teams, procurement, and external vendors, you'll ensure the organisation has access to the right market data products and services while delivering value, transparency, and commercial efficiency.
The role involves assessing business requirements, recommending market data solutions, analysing subscriptions and spend, supporting vendor management and licensing compliance, and contributing to strategic market data initiatives. You will also provide reporting, conduct product and vendor evaluations, and partner with stakeholders across the business to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities- Act as a trusted advisor on market data products, services, and sourcing strategies.
- Support market data governance, compliance, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Handle relationships with business stakeholders, technology teams, procurement, and vendors.
- Evaluate market data products, vendor offerings, and business requirements to identify optimal solutions.
- Deliver spend analysis, reporting, and commercial insights to support decision-making.
- Support central initiatives involving market data across the organisation.
- Experience in business analysis, preferably within market data, trading, financial services, or energy markets.
- Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of market data products, subscriptions, licensing, and vendor management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively across business and technology functions.
- Understanding of data management concepts and AI use cases within a business environment.
